What is the Fishing for Cudas Tournament?
The Fifth Annual “Fishing For Cudas” Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2014
at JB’s Fish Camp located at 859 Pompano Ave., in New Smyrna Beach. The Captain’s meeting
will be held Friday night, October 24th at the Barracuda football game versus Deltona at the
New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex. ALL proceeds from this tournament will benefit the New
Smyrna Beach High School Athletic Department.
This tournament has more than doubled in size since it was first started as our community
“Make a Difference Day” project in October of 2009. It is our goal to raise over $25,000 this
year to support the “Pay to Play” initiative which allows any interested athlete who cannot
afford the fees the opportunity to play an individual or team sport. This can only be possible
through the generous support of the businesses that serve our community.
Many levels of sponsorship are available to support this event. The attached sheet outlines how
your company will be showcased based on your commitment to a level that fits your budget.
The generous support we have enjoyed within our community has ensured the continuation of
our athletic programs. No student has been denied the opportunity to participate due to your
support. As a result of the hard work of our students and coaches, we have seen many
successful athletes take top honors in our county and state. Each year a number of outstanding
Cuda athletes are offered athletic scholarships at colleges and universities and this year is no
different.
Once again, we look forward to working with our community partners to ensure the success of
this event to support our high school athletes. In addition, we always look for donations for the
Captains Bag and Silent Auction items.
